A movie about friendship, love, discovering oneself & breaking free. A movie about choices, about long life relationships, about madness, about cherished memories, about life, a movie about dreams. Thats YJHD in few words.
Bunny, Adi & Aditi are best friends from school and plan to go on a trek to Manali. Scholar Naina (also from their school) joins in & her life changes, she changes & gathers memories for life. Bunny dreams about traveling across the globe while Naina wants a simple life with her loved ones. 8 years and they have not met Bunny, for he had given them a surprise on the last day of their trek. And suddenly, Aditi is having a destination wedding with all the taam jhaam. Friends reunite, memories make a comeback and dreams are re-lived.
The movie starts off on a very happy colorful note and take you through a journey of memories. A trek to Manali, friends, masti, lots of memories and love stories. The entire trip, right from when they board the train; makes you want to take such a trip with your friends. The destination wedding in Udaipur makes you want to either attend one or have one. Royal palace, colorful lights, beautiful costumes and music, love in the air- MIND BLOWN.
While you watch the movie, you see a resemblance of yourself in the characters. You connect with Bunny and Naina, you want friends like Adi and Aditi. The movie manages to fill your heart with emotions, a youthful energy and a fire to pursue your dreams, yet keep your loved ones close. A lot of clichés but covered by wonderful performances.
Performances- Ranbir delivers an effortless performance, and with each film he is proving himself time n again. Deepika plays a nerd and totally fits the bill, apart from looking super sexy. Ranbir- Deepika’s sizzling chemistry and the comfort level shows on-screen. Kalki plays her role okay, but you can see her bad dancing skills. Aditya Roy Kapoor is here to stay, and plays the possessive friend perfectly. Though very less focus is given to characters of Kalki n Aditya. And Madhuri Dixit burns the screen with Ghagra. This lady can dance with her eyes and you yearn for more of her. Madhuri and Ranbir totally blast the screen with their moves and colorful adayein.
Ayan- *bows down*. This man is here to give the youth best of cinema. His movies have the youthful energy with a hint of emotions & brilliant locations. The movie is shot well, music totally supports the movie and costumes are perfect. Though the movie could be a lil shorter, you do come out of the theater with a smile. Karan Johar deserves a mention too, for finding the right talent.
My Rating- 4/5
Yipeeee! 100th post & it’s on one of the most special movies ever, Shree. All you readers, thank-you so much for the support :).
Shree, released on April 26th with a mixed response. A lot of critics & Tv fraternity loved the movie, the lead actor’s (Hussain Kuwajerwala) honest & brilliant acting and the gripping nature of the movie. I got a chance to watch this movie in Mumbai. Here’s my review-
Have you guys ever read Agatha Christie’s novels? The thrill & mystery element in her books keep you hooked till the end. That was my first reaction as I finished the movie. A sci-fi movie tag was enough to get me excited about the movie and the movie totally lived upto the genre. It kept me hooked & made me guess till the land moment; and I ended up loving the movie.
The movie starts off with a story of a common man Shreedhar Upadhaya who works as an accountant in an MNC. A girlfriend, her mother’s constant demands & the pressure to get married and be rich, everything every common man living in Mumbai wishes for. He gets a tempting offer from Randhawa to trade 12 hours of his life for 20 lakh rupees, but he doesn’t know what he is expected to do. The only thing he is assured is the work is not bad, it’s just huge. In a matter of few hours, Shree’s life is a mess. He is accused of murder of the Police Commissioner & he doesn’t even know why. A series of twists n turns tell you the movie is about science, time fissure and time travel & you are totally blown out of your minds. Yet, you cannot predict the end & the movie will make you play the guessing game!A Bollywood movie, new cast & crew and such a brilliant thought theme; kudos.
Performance of the Crew– The movie has few numbers mostly used to support the movie, and hardly get any attention. Though the ending credits promotional song ‘Phat Gayi’ could have been better, considering Hussain K is a powerpacked dancer; but it was a good change anyways. The dialogues are pretty okay, though at times you want something more; something out of the bolt to boggle your mind. The movie is made on a low-budget which does show at a lot of places, especially missing of an art director. The sound mixing is average, though I liked the background score used in the starting credits of the movie. The story was pretty gripping & must have looked 10 times better on paper, because of the genre. You need a lot of explanations, twists, which do get neglected in a mere 2 hour movie. Overall, a good work by the crew considering everyone was a first timer.
Performance of the Cast– Now this is my favorite part. Hussain Kuwajerwala is a STAR, indeed a ROCKSTAR. He is the shining star of the movie with his more than extraordinary acting. Right from playing a common man to a person who is accused of murders; Hussain plays each part so convincingly that you feel it’s all happening right in front of you. You can feel the honesty of the character, of the actor throughout the movie. And the last scene before the end credits roll, you almost see a Superstar driving his way to fame, yes, Hussain looks that good. Anjali Patil fails to impress with her shrill over-the-top shouting in the movie. Shivani scores a decent score with her subtle acting. Paresh Ganatra totally floored me with his style, and performs his part really well. Rest of the characters do their role as required, with no major flaws & totally supporting the movie.
Overall, if you want to watch a different Bollywood movie, watch Shree. If you want to watch a movie where you gotta use your brains, watch Shree. I’d get you 100 reasons to watch Shree; so better watch it ;).
Rating– 4/5 (extra 0.5 only because of Hussain K’s acting)

The movie is being released under the banner of Ciemme Entertainment. It’s Written and Directed by Rajesh Bachchani and Produced by Vikram M. Shah. They released the first look along with a digital poster video few days back.

And the first look, I’d rather talk about the trailer in the next post about Shree!
Do leave your comments/Views about the poster and the first look. The journey has begun. All set for Shree on April 26th!
Keep spreading the word.
“Love thy with all my heart. Love thy like my own heart”
I never knew what it was to be madly in love, to be crazy, to love someone with all your heart, to be a fan until 9 years back I saw HIM. I found my crazy, insane, bubbly side because of him and I shall love him for eternity for that. His innocence and his smile spelled their magic on me and there was no looking back. Even today, I can stare at him and get butterflies in my stomach when I have to meet him.
He is none other than “H.U.S.E.I.N”. I am sure almost all of you knew, if you know me since a while. He started off with his TV career where I saw him initially and then moved on to do dance shows, ultimately doing a Live entertainment show “Zangoora”. As every other person who is related to the entertainment industry, he too wished to make it to Bollywood someday. I have been closely following him since so many years, and I know that he is very talented and hard working. He is someone who deserves the best and no I am not being biased. If there is something wrong, I shall directly say it (even he knows it).
The big leap has finally come. Husein is doing a movie, though it’s a very small budget suspense thriller kind of movie. But he is going to be making the big shift, no matter the cast or any other aspect. The movie is titled “Shree” and is expected to come out at the start of next year. And this news makes me soo soo happy. As an ardent fan, I feel proud of my love and just want to wish him lots and lots of GoodLuck. I know whenever it hits the screens, it shall make his fans proud of him (Oh it shall defo make me proud). And I am so going to do the first review on it on this blog, which already makes me so excited. Just sending lots of prayers, good wishes and positivity to my love for all the success that he deserves and shall get with god’s grace. I love him, and I know I shall always love him.
My Love for him is just so special. Beyond words, beyond eternity.
“Pata hai, Yahan se bahut door, Galat aur sahi ke paar, Ek maidan hai. Main wahan milunga tujhe”
It’s not just a movie; it’s a journey of a man, of passion and of a third dimension Music. It’s a journey where you identify with some parts; disagree with others, all the while drowning you in the sea of music. Another love story by Imtiaz Ali, yet so different from his earlier movies. He is a man who knows how to deliver emotions right till your heart, and exactly when to strike the chords. The movie revolves around a very common guy Janardhan Jhakar/ JJ who wants to make it big in music like Jim Morrison but realizes it was never what he wanted. This man doesn’t understand Love but when he does, his woman has moved on to follow the “morally correct path”. On the other hand is this woman, who doesn’t really know what she wants and when she knows, she choses to the wrong path. Rockstar is magical music weaved in this confusion, desperation, love and destiny.
This is not the best movie I’ve ever watched, but it is definitely the Best Movie I ever ‘felt’, came a voice from within the moment the movie ended. Mausam released yesterday i.e. September 23rd, 2011 after all the postponing and hulahu of the certificates. The promos had generated a tad too much of expectations amongst the viewers. Also it was Pankaj Kapur’s movie who is considered a legendary, a very fine actor having potrayed some very strong roles, which raised the expectations a lot more.
P.S I Love You..
Does this Title ring a bell? Yes for people who love reading books or watching movies. P.S I Love You is a very popular novel by Cecelia Ahern which was later produced as a movie starring Gerard Butler as Gerry and Hilary Swank as Holly.
I had seen the movie some 3 years back and infact this was one of the very first few english movies I watched (when serious hollywood craze started). I loved it for the fact it was touching, beautifully potrayed the love between 2 people. The movie revolves around the beautiful couple Gerry and Holly who are madly in love with each other. Due to illness, Gerry dies and this leaves Holly with no life. She cannot accept the fact that his love was gone, the man she wanted to spend her entire life with. With time, she discovers that her husband has left a series of love notes for her to discover herself, to live life again and to be the person she was before he left her.The shoe making business that Holly starts was dazzling. The movie takes you through the journey of their happy times, the heart crunching moments and the sweet love notes that dawns upon you how true love can conquer anything.
