Bachaoo.. Bachaoo.. Koi toh suno, screamed the girl with a tinge of fear in her eyes. A handsome man appears out of nowhere and the girl, that’s me cannot help but stare. My eyes are motionless and the body froze at the sight of this strong, handsome and gullible figure standing in front.
“Kaun hai?”, I ask in complete shock and bittersweet happiness, at the same time. Just trying to keep my feet down and not go to the heaven right above the stars I could see. I finally hear him speak for the first time trying to stand still and hiding my happiness.
” I am a proud citizen of ZangooraLand” and my name is Zangoora, he says in a flirtatious tone.
I was flattered and we hit a conversation instantly. There was a different level of chemistry with this man. He was naughty and witty, always trying to be cheesy. His tone made me swoon but I had to tone down my feelings.
He finally spoke “Jaaneman chalegi tu mere saath” which left me bewildered. Though I was petrified at the thought but he looked true to me. His sense of humour, his positivity and enthusiasm left a huge impression on me.
I decided to take the plunge and answered trying to be all pricey- “Jaaneman aur tumhari, kabhi nahin. Meri jooti bhi na bane tum jaise ki jaaneman”.
“Zangoora – What do you think of it as when you hear the name”. Personally, when I heard about it, I thought of it as some show , unsure of it’s genre or scale (the first instinct). But when I read about the mighty, grand and the larger than life Zangoora, I was startled. At first, I couldnot believe that something at such a large-scale could be done in India. And when the posters were released, I was sure this was going to be BIG. Something that would make history and re-define the scale of entertainment shows.

Back after a long hiatus. Today morning, while listening to a song ( Nindiya Re – Coke Studio) I was just thinking. The same usual thoughts. .
When the music was mellow and the thoughts were not shallow.. When the heart was sad and the mind was mad.. Random thoughts which beautifully came out in the form of a poem..
I want to fly to a distant unknown land;
|I shall fly.. Someday
( Picture Credit : Twitsnap)
Where there is no one known;
The sea, mountains and the sun shine;
Where there are no phones, no internet ; No means of communication;
You are just self;
Nobody to Judge, Nobody to Watch, Nobody to Stop;
Nobody to Offend, Nobody to Answer to, Nobody to be responsible for;
Where you can experiment as much as you want;
With life, With Food, With Music, With Work, With your soul;
Where there’s freedom, For You and your Soul;
Where there’s Only Work and Music, Only Care and True Friendship;
Friendship with youself, With the Sun, With the Moon, With the Unknown people;
People who donot expect, People who donot leave, People who donot hurt;
People who have left the known world, left those memories;
Where you live Life, in the real sense;
Where you breathe your dreams;
And the bubble of Dreams never burst;
Take me to that Distant Land;
Take me away, Take me Far away;
Someday i shall Fly away;
Fly away to the Distant Land;
To the Land Unknown, To the Land Unknown.
I donot know what these lines want to tell me. I just felt good after writing this. Shall be back soon.
My Love for Punjabi Music is increasing by the day. The new Song ‘Sadi Gali’ from the movie ‘Tanu weds Manu’ and ‘Laung da Lashkara’ from the movie ‘Patiala House’ have completely enthralled me. These songs have been On Loop for me. The contrast is that few years back I never liked Punjabi Music. It irritated the hell out of me and I was always uncomfortable.
But with time, I have started liking the music, the beats, the lyrics. I would not say that I have started liking all the songs but I dunt mind Punjabi Music much now. And some songs make me swing to their beats so much, that I dunt mind swinging to the songs every now and then. A Big Shout Out would go to @djash (on Twitter) aka DJ Aashish who plays Beats From The East on http://www.radio1190.org every Saturday. One has to tune in to his podcast for the ultimate Punjabi Music. You are sure to like Punjabi music much more.
My Current Favs. Have a Look. And check out for yourself 🙂
On this Punjabi Note, I would leave this post. Would be back soon.
